At least (I’m assuming that you’re protestant) you’re quoting the King James version, and not one of those tiresome “modern” translations that just don’t have the same sense of import. I strongly support the “thees” and “thows” if you’re reading a protestant Bible.
But relax a bit. Elliot is jewish, so the New Testament (”NT”) references aren’t relevant or appropriate. And the Old Testament (”OT”) lessons about sexual morality are a bit more nuanced than your summary would suggest. Sexual morality in the OT is more about maintaing certain societal and social mores, and thus maintaining family and social constructs. We (okay, I’m a 10-year male convert) Jews don’t really do fire, brimstone, and hell for individual sins. Not to say that we don’t believe in pursuing perfection of individual behavior, but we don’t believe that God punishes us for being less than He himself is. We just always figure that you can do better.

Slight correction in your article…….Spitzer is NOT being crucified by conservatives and Republicans. Mass Media , yes, but this has nothing to do w/ cons and Reps.
