WRITERS

FREELANCE WRITERS

Freelancers contribute to several sections of the magazine, including Dating, Profiles, Travel, Health, and Features. Topics should address women’s interest or sexual issues in some way, but they can cover politics, popular culture, relationships and more. We prefer to receive pitches via email. Completed stories will be considered, but pitches allow the editorial staff to discuss story angles with writers, offer suggestions and assign word counts. We pay $1/word on publication for articles.

Personal essays for our “Confessional” column should be submitted complete (under 1000 words). We pay a flat sliding fee for essays.

Both articles and essays should be riskier and more daring and candid than stories published in traditional women’s magazines. PLAYGIRL will not run stories that have been printed elsewhere. Lead time is several months. Feel free to follow up on your pitch if you don’t hear back from us after several weeks.

EROTIC ENCOUNTERS

Erotic Encounters are fictional pieces written solely by PLAYGIRL readers. Two stories are selected each month. Some tips:

  • Fantasies need to be in the first person, and from the female perspective. Be creative, wild, and uninhibited in your writing. All submissions must be sexually explorative fantasies that empower, enlighten, and entertain.
  • Any fantasies involving pain, degradation, or extreme negativity will not be considered.
  • All stories must be type-written and between 800 and 1200 words in length.
  • All entries become property of PLAYGIRL. We regret that not all submissions will be acknowledged. Additionally, because only two stories are selected each month, it may more than a year to publish submissions.
  • All entries must include your name, address, telephone number and e-mail.
  • Each writer whose story is selected receives $50.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

PLAYGIRL is always looking for freelance photographers for solo model and couple sets. If you are interested in shooting for us, send an email with a link to your portfolio to photos@playgirlmag.com. Once the art director gets back to you, you can begin submitting models for approval. Please reference a recent issue for our standards on models and overall shoot look. When models are approved by the art director, she will work with you on ideas/themes and the shoot schedule.

All models must file a completed 2257 Form and a Model Release form.

Completed sets can also be submitted for approval, as long as the sets have not been previously published. Please mail sets on a disc, preferably with contact sheets, to the address below. We will let you know whether or not the shoot is approved. No phone calls. Playgirl owns full rights to any shoot we buy.

We also run excerpts from published photo books. This 6-8 page set features the book cover and selected photos, along with a short description and purchase information. We do not pay for sets from published books but this is a great publicity opportunity. Please send a link to your book to photos@playgirlmag.com and we will get back to you with further instructions.

MODELS

PROFESSIONAL MODELS

If you are interested in professional modeling and think that your body, skin, frame, smile and ‘member’ are up to our standards, we would be glad to take a look at your photos. Email a variety of pictures that include different poses with both erect and semi-erect penis, as well as a head shot to models@playgirlmag.com. We usually prearrange our model line up for future issues by a minimum of six months. If we are interested in booking you we will be in touch. We can not respond to every applicant due to our extremely high volume of submissions. No phone calls.

REAL MEN

If you would like to be considered for Playgirl’s ‘Real Men’ pages, where there is a $250 reward if you are chosen, send the following to:

  • A few photos (all nude) featuring a variety of poses (these photos must be originals, no computer print outs)
  • A completed 2257 Form
  • A completed Model Release form
  • A photocopy of the model’s ID (to show proof of age)
  • A list of your interests, favorites, hobbies
  • Your height, weight, hometown and age

Incomplete submissions will not be considered. We can not respond to every applicant due to our extremely high volume of submissions. If we are using your photos, you will hear from us when your submission is slated for a specific issue. This will be a minimum of several months and may be a year or longer from the time you submit your photos. No phone calls.
